A book won't download

If a book won't download, try one or more of the steps below.

Note: You can download books in the Sora app and compatible web browsers. You won't see download options in unsupported browsers.

  • Download the book manually:
    1. Go to Shelf.
    2. Select Loans.
    3. Click or tap cloud icon next to the book, then select Download.
  • Check your download settings (under menu) to make sure books automatically download.
  • App only: If the book says "Download paused," you need Wi-Fi to download. You can change your download settings (under menu) to allow downloads without Wi-Fi.
  • Browser only: Make sure you have enough storage space to download the book. To see your browser's storage space, go to menu > Download settings.
  • Make sure you have an internet connection.
  • Close the app or browser completely, then reopen it.
  • Restart your device.
  • If your device has an SD card, take the SD card out and try downloading again.
