How to enter "Read From Here" mode with a screen reader

If you use Sora with a screen reader, you can enter "Read From Here" mode after you open an ebook to hear it read aloud. For sighted users, we recommend using Read to Me in ebooks (to read individual paragraphs aloud) or listening to audiobooks instead.

Note: If you're using VoiceOver on iOS, you can use the Magic Tap gesture anywhere in the reader to enter or exit "Read From Here" mode. Otherwise, follow the steps below.

To enter "Read From Here" mode with a keyboard shortcut, press Shift + " when you have an ebook open in Sora.

If you don't have a keyboard or don't want to use the shortcut:

1. Open a borrowed ebook in Sora.
2. Dismiss the navigation.
3. While in "Page" mode, tab or swipe until you hear "Read From Here button," then activate the button.

While in "Read From Here" mode, tab or swipe to read each section (header, paragraph, etc.). Or, follow the prompts to change your screen reader settings to continuously read.

To exit "Read From Here" mode, tab or touch the top-right corner of the screen to access the Exit button.
